How the map counts evidence
Counts come from the same live inventory as Projects and Initiatives. Each source URL counts once per country or region; a source without a URL is identified by its title, publisher, and date. A cited source can support multiple project records. Multi-country records appear under each explicitly named country, so country totals should not be added together.
US project records are grouped by geographic labels and recorded locations. Records covering several regions stay in Cross-region; national or insufficiently located records stay separate. The project-record breakdown adds up to the US total. A source cited in more than one group can appear in each group.
Broad regional, global, or unresolved geographic labels remain accessible under Global and other geographic records. Map markers represent places, rather than exact project locations.
